Alder Science Fair 2019

Thirty-six student competed in the 2019 Alder Science Fair. First-, second-, and third-place ribbons were given to the top projects in six categories. Fifth-grade GT students from the Miller School attended the fair and served as judges for the "People's Choice Award." Judges also awarded medals to the top three projects in the entire fair.

2018 Alder Science Fair

The 2018 Alder Avenue Science Fair was held on March 7th in the library. The event was the culmination of five months of researching, experimenting, writing, building, and practicing. Thirty-one students from sixth and seventh grades gave their presentations to the judges, and winners were determined in five different categories. There were also medals given to the top three overall projects in the entire fair, along with a “People’s Choice” award that was voted on by 5th grade GT students visiting from the Miller School.

Be Fearless Be Kind Project

The Alder Ave Be Fearless Be Kind project is being introduced to the student population. Student working on the project determined that the best way to get the service project trending amongst our students is by word of mouth. To create interest in our building, students have placed puzzle pieces throughout the hallway and are now bringing all the “Pieces together.”
